The next piece in my mosaic series “Icons” is the Ayrton Senna Tribute. The mosaic is composed of over 20,000 hand-placed tiles. At the center of the artwork, there is a racing card signed by Ayrton Senna.
The frame is partially made from mosaic tiles and partially from 3D-printed elements. The artwork also contains two hidden messages that become visible only under UV light.
The project is currently in progress, with its reveal planned for January 2027.
The mosaic is based on a photograph by Mike King, taken during practice for the Brazilian Grand Prix on March 22nd, 1986, at the Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet Jacarepaguá near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The piece will not be available for sale. It will only be loaned for limited periods to exclusive locations.
