This mosaic is composed of over 17,000 one-centimeter tiles. I laid every single one by hand, day after day, over the course of several months. There are no shortcuts here—only the process, repetition, and focus on the goal. The entire piece is sealed with resin, creating a structure built to last for generations.
Kobe was my first idol. As a kid, he was the one who motivated me to go outside and shoot hoops, even in the cold autumn rain. I remember asking for a basketball hoop for Christmas when I was 13. In hindsight, it was a tough lesson in patience—I had to wait five months for the weather to clear so I could finally use it. That’s when I learned what it means to wait for your moment. Today, my son stands in the photo next to the artwork—the story comes full circle.

The Core: Embedded within the artwork is an authentic autograph of Kobe Bryant.
The Frame: Crafted from reclaimed wood salvaged from old demolished houses. This raw material is decades old, predating the Lakers’ era. Imperfect, heavy, authentic.
