NIGHT SHIFT

When Bartłomiej Kubkowski called me and told me that, right at the finish line of the fundraiser, Mr. Sobiesław Zasada’s Foundation had donated an incredible PLN 160,000, I knew it had to be celebrated properly.

I created a hand-laid mosaic made of 16,200 glass tiles. The artwork is based on a photograph taken by Stanisław Klimaszewski on August 1 at 10:30 PM — during the second toughest night of Bartek’s 5th attempt to swim across the Baltic Sea, Ultra Baltic Swim 2026.

This piece is a tribute to two icons and absolute legends: Bartek and Mr. Sobiesław.

Soon, Bartek and I will be going together to present it to him. Could I have imagined anything more special?

P.S. This year, Bartek raised a total of PLN 1,196,904 for the Cancer Fighters Foundation. Knowing him, he’s only just getting started.
