One evening, I was watching a documentary about Robert and I felt that he is still carrying the loss of his father with him. This image came to me during meditation. From that moment on, I knew I had to create it.
Actually, the image was already created — I simply connected to it.
The figures of Robert and his father are made from more than 11,600 pieces of glass, which I painted and placed by hand, one by one.
This piece is a tribute to Robert and to where he is today, despite everything he has been through. To the fact that, through his own example, he shows that it is possible to be both an outstanding athlete and a good human being.
The piece is not finished yet, as the background will be made of black resin. It will never be for sale, and I hope that one day it will find its way to him.
Even the football under his father’s foot is the one that Koka used to chew on. 🙂
